Answer from memory first, provenance shown.
In the mem: domain
mem: — Save what this message designates, durably.mem:pin — Save it at special priority — pinned, load-bearing.mem:fix — Correct an existing memory: replace old with new.mem:recall — Answer from memory first, provenance shown.mem:forget — Remove the designated memory — guarded, confirmed. What it does
A read: the agent answers from what is actually remembered about the topic — and says plainly when nothing is saved.
The registry's own words: Answer from memory first: search what is actually remembered about this, report it with its provenance where known — and say plainly when nothing is saved. A standalone read act; does not stack with writes.
Fire it — usage examples
“What do you have saved about my family?
mem:recall”→ the stored facts, with their provenance where known — when each was saved, and whether it is pinned.
“What's my sister's name?
mem:recall”→ the answer from the store — or “nothing saved about that,” plainly.
Said aloud: “Lingo, memory recall — what do you have on my family?”
→ the stored facts, with their provenance.
Spoken. Inside a marked span opened by the wake word “Lingo”, the spoken form is “memory recall”. Dictated directives fire deliberately, never by accident.
What the agent actually does
A search of the memory store, and a report of what is actually there. Anything the agent adds from the current conversation or general knowledge is labeled as such — remembered content and added content are never blended. This is also your inspection tool on hosts that show no memory list of their own.
The baseline procedure, its edge cases, and this directive's full guide live in the implementation guide: implementation/IMPLEMENTATION.md#cmd-mem-recall ↗.
When the host can't
No durable memory: answer from the current conversation only, and label the answer as coming from this conversation, not from saved memory. When nothing is saved on the topic, say so plainly; never confabulate.
Conformance — “done when”
The remembered content is reported with provenance, or its absence is stated plainly — nothing confabulated.
Persistence class: content-read. Execution report in the reply: required. A user can test any of this by hand — fire the directive, then check the result against the store, the schedule, or the reply itself.
